Biography
I was born and raised in Shandong, China. I'm curious about all kinds of healing traditions, among which I practice yoga, meditation, Taiji and Chinese therapeutical exercises (导引) on a daily basis - they lend me not only physical and mental energy but also academic inspirations.

Research Description
My primary research focus is late imperial Chinese medical history. I am particularly interested in 1) how the underlying political, social, and cultural factors shaped medical understanding(s) of women's bodies, childbirth, and motherhood; 2) the circulation of medical knowledge between China, Japan, and the Anglophone world.
